What do you do when you wake up with the ‘winter blues?’

When I get the ‘winter blues’ I start baking. Today, I decided to try out a recipe from my Sun-Maid Raisins package.  I, of course, needed to add some leftover ingredients I wanted to use up and make mine into monster cookies.

Sun-Maid Raisin Cookie Recipe:

Classic oatmeal raisin cookies: makes 4 dozen
3/4 cup soft butter, 3/4 cup flour
1cup brown sugar, 1/4 tsp salt
1/2 cup sugar, 1tsp ground cinnamon
1/4 cup milk, 1/2 tsp baking soda
1large egg, 3cups oats
1 tsp. vanilla extract, 1 cup sun-maid raisins

350°F oven heat
Cream butter, sugar, milk, egg, and vanilla until light and fluffy.
Combine flour, salt, cinnamon, and baking soda.
Add to creamed mixture; mix well
Stir in oats and raisins
Drop by tablespoon onto greased cookie sheet or use parchment paper
Bake 12-15 minutes until brown
Cool on wire racks

For monster cookies: add chocolate chips and walnuts as desired

Then share and bring someone else some joy…yum!
