Camping, NaNo Style

I love to camp! I’ve been a camper since my Birch Trail days. I’m camping this month, but this month is a little different. I’m not actually camping in the great outdoors with the mosquitos, and the horseflies and the outdoor toilet.
No, this is the kind of camping I can do from the comfort of my own home. Dare I say, from my own comfy bed with my laptop and tea nearby.
If you’ve never heard of NaNoWriMo, then let me share a little secret with you.
I love writing. I love it so much that I stumbled on a group of people like myself so determined to write their stories that they created an entire month-long challenge.
- Are you interested in writing anything?
- Have you started a book in the past but can’t seem to finish it?
- Do you need a little motivation to start and finish something new?
Then NaNoWriMo is for you. Well, this month isn’t the official month. Every year in April and July it is called CampNaNoWriMo. I believe I’ve mentioned it before.
The idea is similar to the official event that takes place in November. The biggest difference is that you can choose your own finish line. That means you can choose how many words, pages, or hours you work and in thirty days when you’ve reached your goal, you’ve won!
The first week is done but it’s not too late to go camping. So who’s with me?
